End Grain Cutting Boards disinfection

To keep your cutting board in its best condition it’s recommended to treat it with tick hard-wax or linseed oil. This will prevent the growth of mold and bacteria while isolating the wood from odor absorption.

Pour the oil on the surface and rub it with a soft cloth. Don’t worry of overflowing – wood will stop soaking in oil when it reaches its limit. Wait for 30 minutes and wipe away the excess oil with a dry cloth.

To improve the qualities of the oil and give even better finish of the wood you can add beeswax. Beeswax improves wood’s smoothness, durability and makes it waterproof.

Repeat the whole procedure after 5-6 hours, giving enough time for the wood to absorb the oil. It is recommended to repeat this treatment every month.
